In Soundworks' short history they have been impressing audiences in the Mid-Atlantic region with their versatile repertoire and influential performances. I've had the pleasure of hearing them at various contest and community functions and have been fortunate to work with them on many occasions. With tracks like 'Loch Lomond' and 'Ave Maria' we see their ability to perform a variety of styles at a heartfelt level. Attention to detail in such a small and powerful group is evident by their execution of complex rhythms and dynamic harmonies in songs like "Hey, Good Lookin'" and "Everybody Step/Alexander's Ragtime Band." This is a great milestone of their dedication and hard work and I expect this is only the beginning of where this fine organization is headed. I'm thrilled that they're able to cut their first CD and share their musicianship with the rest of the world.

I had the pleasure of coaching Soundworks for this performance of Scarborough Fair. They are an outstanding group of singers, talented and dedicated, who perform with great luster and excitement within their choral sound. Their unique approach to music- making, of having a large ensemble perform without conductor, gives them a unity of breath and tone unlike many other groups of this size, yielding excellent performances of fine literature sung with great heart. This recording embodies more of what I had originally done with the arrangement in the early 1970's in terms of tempo, dynamics, and nuance, so it is with delight that I recommend this version to you.

Please tell everyone in Soundworks how much I enjoyed your performance last night. Great stuff from start to finish. Having began as a Hi-Lo wannabee in the '50's, and loving the King Singers as I do, I'm envious of some of the cool stuff you do!! Thanks for a great concert.
Roger Tarpy, Music Director of Greater Richmond Chorus

Soundworks served up a wonderful buffet of music that truly satisfied my hunger for good music in many styles I love. They have moved way past singing well and moved into that area of rarely heard musical and performance artistry. I have always been a fan of Soundworks, but their Fairfax evening performance took me to new musical heights
